What we do

Days flow easily here

Game drives at dawn, river swims, fishing, picnics, sundowners, and quiet time to unwind. With no fixed schedule, every day is shaped around you - space, stillness, and the freedom to take the wild at your own pace.

Game drives

You could be out at first light with Wiz, and again as the heat goes out of the afternoon. Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and wild dog all move through Suguroi Ranch.

Walking

Guided walks on the ranch - tracks, birds, trees, rock art and the small things you miss from a vehicle. Distances to suit whoever is walking, children included.

The river

Swimming in the pools of the Ewaso Nyiro below camp, and fishing when the water is right. Long afternoons on the rocks with a book are glorified!

Bush meals

Breakfast cooked over a fire on the riverbank, picnics under an acacia, sundowners on a rocky kopje and dinner among the rocks by lantern light.

Fieldwork with Mpala

By arrangement, guests can join researchers from the neighbouring Mpala Research Centre in the field - this involves collaring, camera traps, and rangeland surveys.

Doing nothing

Sleeping in, swimming, drawing, painting, cards by the fire. There is no schedule to keep up with, we will discuss what you'd like to do the night before so we are all on the same page.

What we eat

Helmed by Chef James Kariuki - winner of Kenya’s 2025 “Taste Off” - our cooking blends fine-dining craft with bush simplicity. Fresh, local produce, fire-grilled meat and vegetables, and relaxed, memorable meals shared under open skies.
