Why we do this

Back to the heart of safari

Wiz and Juju Kennedy raised three children in Kenya and built this camp to share the kind of safari they grew up with - unhurried, unfussy, and close to the ground. We are all about a pace that suits you, and making memories for a lifetime. We are all about a roaring fire, a river to fish and swim in, good food, and someone who knows this country walking beside you.

Wiz, Juju and their three children in camp

One party at a time

The camp is only ever taken on an exclusive-use basis. We believe this is the difference between visiting a lodge and being someone's guest, and we want you to feel like you're at home in the bush.

A light footprint

Canvas, timber and rope. Everything can be struck and carried out, leaving the riverbank as we found it. Water is heated by fire, waste is carried off the ranch, and we have purposefully designed the camp to be small.

Local hands, local food

Our team is from Laikipia, and the kitchen buys from Kenyan growers and producers as far as possible. Juju's background building Greenspoon means we know where things come from, and what makes for not just quality food but food that has an impact on people and planet.

Wildlife pays its way

Conservation fees on every guest go directly to Suguroi Ranch. Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, elephant and lion share this land with cattle, and that balance holds because it earns.
